This Day in Horror History: Happy Birthday, Lizzy Caplan
On this day in horror history, Cloverfield and Castle Rock actress Lizzy Caplan aka Elizabeth Anne Caplan was born in Los Angeles in 1982.
Best known around these parts for taking over the role of Stephen King’s killer nurse Annie Wilkes from Kathy Bates in the second season of Hulu and JJ Abrams’ Castle Rock, Caplan is also known for her role in the awesome found-footage classic Cloverfield.
On top of that, she also starred in Netflix’s alien invasion thriller Extinction with Michael Pena (Fantasy Island) and HBO’s True Blood with Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Ryan Kwanten, and Alexander Skarsgård.
Along with Castle Rock and True Blood, Caplan has also been a force in the world of TV throughout the past few years with roles in shows such as Masters of Sex, Party Down, Freaks and Geeks, and Undeclared.
She also lent her voice talents to animated shows like Seth MacFarlane’s Family Guy, American Dad!, The Cleveland Show, and The Simpsons.
Many people will know Caplan for her breakout role in Tina Fey’s high school comedy Mean Girls with Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams.
That said, she has also played parts in other films such as Hot Tub Time Machine, 127 Hours, The Interview, Now You See Me 2, and The Disaster Artist. Oh, and Jason Mraz’s music video “You and I Both”.
