Jennifer Connelly Returning For Scott Derrickson’s LABYRINTH 2?
Sinister and Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson is working on his sequel to Jim Henson’s 1986 musical fantasy Labyrinth as we speak.
And today, WGTC reports Jennifer Connelly (Phenomena, Dark City) will return as Sarah Williams- and will be the mother of the new hero.
Makes sense to me considering Derrickson and Connelly worked together on the 2008 remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still with Keanu Reeves.

George Lucas (Howard the Duck) executive produced the original which Terry Jones (Monty Python) wrote based on Brian Froud’s designs.
It follows 15-year-old Sarah (Jennifer Connelly) who resents her baby brother Toby and secretly wishes that he will just disappear. Her wish comes true when goblins kidnap the boy. Feeling responsible and guilty about his abduction, she sets forth to retrieve him, and finds herself on the adventure of a lifetime. To rescue her brother, she must sneak into the castle of the Goblin King, which is in the center of a fantastical labyrinth. But, the task is easier said than done, for the maze is filled with strange creatures and mind-bending puzzles, and nothing is really as it seems.
It sports a 71% on Rotten Tomatoes with a Critics Consensus that reads: While it’s arguably more interesting on a visual level, Labyrinth provides further proof of director Jim Henson’s boundless imagination.
