This Day in Horror History: Happy Birthday, Scream King Patrick Wilson!
On this day in horror history, scream king Patrick Joseph Wilson was born in 1973. Wilson is perhaps best known around these parts for starring in both the Insidious series and The Conjuring franchise as Ed Warren.
But that’s not all, folks.
Wilson has also starred in such classics as David Slade’s Hard Candy, Ridley Scott’s Prometheus, S. Craig Zahler’s Bone Tomahawk, the killer horror anthology Nightmare Cinema, and Stephen King’s In the Tall Grass.
Not to mention roles in more mainstream movies like The Alamo, The Phantom of the Opera, Little Children, Lakeview Terrace, Watchmen, The A-Team, Aquaman, and most recently, Roland Emmerich’s Midway.
His TV roles include Angels in America which scored him Golden Globe and Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Best Supporting Actor. And the masterpiece second season of FX and Noah Hawley’s Fargo series which snagged him a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actor.
He is also known for his stage work such as Miss Saigon, Carousel, Bright Lights, Big City, Oklahoma!, Barefoot in the Park, Guys and Dolls, and The Full Monty which snagged him a Tony Award nomination for Best Actor.
