Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights 2020 Officially Canceled

Halloween Horror Nights, the premier event of the Haunt Season, has officially been canceled in 2020–for the first time in 30 years. In an announcement that should come as a surprise to no one, Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood broke the news earlier this afternoon with a joint statement.

“We have made the difficult decision to cancel Halloween Horror Nights this year so we can focus exclusively on operating our theme parks for daytime guests, using the enhanced health and safety procedures already in place. We look forward to creating an amazing event in 2021.”

It’s a huge blow for horror fans and everyone who loves the Halloween season. And while we’re here to commiserate with our readers, we want to remind everyone that the situation is temporary. We, as a society and a community, will persevere and re-emerge stronger and more dedicated for having endured this disappointment.
