Lionsgate Pulls ANTEBELLUM with Janelle Monae From Release
Lionsgate has pulled directors Gerard Bush and Christopher Renz’s horror movie Antebellum with Janelle Monae from its August 21st release date.
Exhibitor Relations shared the news, writing: “Lionsgate playing it safe—ANTEBELLUM moves to TBD, leaving August 21 in the dust.”
Check out their post below.
Lionsgate shifted the film’s release from April to August earlier this year with the hope that the pandemic would’ve been under control by now… but with COVID-19 spiking, re-opening movie theaters looks impossible.
Inspired by a nightmare that Bush had following his father’s death, in which his ancestors were haunting him, Antebellum follows a successful author in the modern-day south, who suddenly finds herself transported to the era of the Antebellum South, with its slave plantations.
