Netflix’s Modern-Day REBECCA Remake Snags MPAA Rating

Earlier this week we shared a first look at Kill List director Ben Wheatley’s upcoming Netflix adaptation of Daphne du Maurier’s Rebecca

And today we have word that the MPAA has slapped it with a PG-13 rating for some sexual content, partial nudity, thematic elements, and smoking.

Rebecca is set to debut on Netflix on October 21st.

Jane Goldman (The Woman in Black) penned the new adaptation which stars Armie Hammer, Lily James, and Kristin Scott Thomas.

Directed by Alfred Hitchcock (Psycho), the original starred Laurence Olivier, Joan Fontaine, and Judith Anderson. It tells of a newly married young woman arriving at her husband’s imposing family estate on a bleak English coast, to find herself battling the shadow of his dead first wife, the mysterious Rebecca, whose legacy continues to haunt the house.
