James Gunn Shares Amazing SLITHER Fan Poster
Before he hit the big time with the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, James Gunn was primarily known for his work in the horror genre, with Slither being a particular favourite among fans. The 2006 sci-fi horror comedy was written and directed by Gunn, and it focused on a small town which becomes overrun by an alien parasite just as hunting season begins, causing the inhabitants to transform into hideous creatures.
A talented artist known as Alex Pardee created a stunning fan poster for Slither, which Gunn himself then shared on his official Instagram account. Pardee’s poster was inspired by the original posters for Squirm and Prophecy, and it shows a grotesque illustration of the mutated character Grant Grant, who was played by Michael Rooker in Slither.
If you’d like to see this equally beautiful and disturbing poster for yourself, you can view it in the embedded post from Gunn’s Instagram account below. Gunn accompanied the image with a short description, where he called the poster amazing and jokingly said that Rooker has never looked more handsome.
Although it opened in cinemas over a decade ago and failed to make a splash at the box office, Slither will always be an important film to horror fans, and we’re glad people are still talking about it in 2020. Meanwhile, Gunn is currently directing The Suicide Squad, and will return to direct Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in the near future.
