Mireille Enos Still Holds Out Hope David Fincher’s WORLD WAR Z 2 Will One Day Rise From the Grave

While it seems like a super longshot at this point in time, World War Z star Mireille Enos remains hopeful David Fincher’s World War Z 2 with Brad Pitt will happen one day.

Enos tells Variety: “It seems like such a shame for it not to be made. The first one was so good. It seems to have a little curse hanging over it. We were all lined up to go. We had Fincher, we had a beautiful script and then it just didn’t happen.”

For those that might not know, Fincher and Pitt’s World War Z 2 was set to shoot in in Georgia, Spain, and Thailand back summer 2019 but Paramount pulled the plug because of the $200 million budget.

Director Marc Forster’s original film was based on the novel by Max Brooks. It began when former U.N. investigator Gerry Lane (Brad Pitt) and his family get stuck in urban gridlock, he senses that it’s no ordinary traffic jam. His suspicions are confirmed when, suddenly, the city erupts into chaos. A lethal virus, spread through a single bite, is turning healthy people into something vicious, unthinking and feral. As the pandemic threatens to consume humanity, Gerry leads a worldwide search to find the source of the infection and, with luck, a way to halt its spread.
