Scrapy Indie Horror BECKY Tops $1M at the Domestic Box Office
Quiver Distribution and Redbox Entertainment are excited to announce that the home invasion horror Becky crossed $1 million in box office revenue this week.
Synopsis:
Spunky and rebellious Becky tries to reconnect with her father during a weekend getaway at a lakefront house. But the trip soon takes a turn for the worse when convicts on the run, led by the merciless Dominick, suddenly invade the home.
Written by Nick Morris (The Evil Eye), Ruckus Skye and Lane Skye (The Devil to Pray, Rattle the Cage) and directed by Cary Murnion and Jonathan Milott (Cooties, Bushwick), Becky stars Lulu Wilson (Annabelle: Creation), Kevin James (Paul Blart: Mall Cop, Hitch, The King of Queens), Amanda Brugel (Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale), Robert Maillet (Sherlock Holmes) and Joel McHale (Community). The film is produced by Jordan Beckerman, Jordan Yale Levine and Russ Posternak from Yale Productions, and J.D. Lifshitz and Raphael Margules from Boulderlight Pictures.
“We are living in strange times when we celebrate a film grossing $1 million at the U.S. Box Office” said Berry Meyerowitz & Jeff Sackman, Co-Presidents of Quiver Distribution. “Given the current marketplace, the combination of an immensely entertaining film with amazing actors, coupled with our distribution capability, allows us to feel very proud of this achievement.”
Becky, which was a selection at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival, opened in 50 theaters and drive-ins throughout the country and on Digital and On Demand on June 5, 2020.
