Critics Refusing to Review THE NEW MUTANTS

Josh Boone’s X-Men horror movie The New Mutants finally hits theaters this weekend. But critics are refusing to review it due to Disney’s gross negligence in not providing it virtually and forcing critics into theaters – during a pandemic.

Press screenings are set for later this week but Disney hasn’t stated theaters will encourage social distancing by reducing capacity. Meanwhile, Warner Brothers kicked off Tenet press screenings this week and implemented social distancing.

Rogerebert.com editor Brian Tallerico tweets:

Directed by Josh Boone and stars Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Charlie Heaton, the original horror-thriller is set in an isolated hospital where a group of young mutants is being held for psychiatric monitoring. When strange occurrences begin to take place, both their new mutant abilities and their friendships will be tested as they battle to try and make it out alive.

It hits theaters on August 28th. Will you be checking it out in a theater? Make sure to let us know in the comments below or on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram!
