Blumhouse’s PARANORMAL ACTIVITY Reboot Delayed a Full Year

Blumhouse’s upcoming Paranormal Activity flick was all set to hit theaters on March 19, 2021. But today we hear that Paramount has pushed it back and the new film will arrive – almost a full year later – on March 4, 2022.

Jason Blum is producing and Happy Death Day director Christopher Landon will return to write a new film. Blum teased Katie Featherston may return as well.

The original centers on a couple who become increasingly disturbed by what appears to be a supernatural presence. Hoping to capture it on film, they set up video cameras in their house but are not prepared for the terror that follows.

It sports an 83% on Rotten Tomatoes with a Critics Consensus that reads: Using its low-budget effects and mockumentary method to great result, Paranormal Activity turns a simple haunted house story into 90 minutes of relentless suspense.
