DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS Begins Filming This November
Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness with Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olsen will begin shooting in the U.K. this November.
Murphy’s Multiverse shared this update. It hasn’t been confirmed by Marvel.
Scott Derickson (Sinister) directed the first Doctor Strange and was set to return but left due to creative differences. Raimi (The Evil Dead, Drag Me to Hell) then stepped in to take over the first horror movie for the MCU.
Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness was originally set to hit on May 7th, 2021, but will now (hopefully) land in theaters on March 25th, 2022.
The original film told the tale of Dr. Stephen Strange’s (Benedict Cumberbatch) whose life changes after a car accident robs him of the use of his hands. When traditional medicine fails him, he looks for healing, and hope, in a mysterious enclave. He quickly learns that the enclave is at the front line of a battle against unseen dark forces bent on destroying reality. Before long, Strange is forced to choose between his life of fortune and status or leave it all behind to defend the world as the most powerful sorcerer in existence.
