CHUCKY: Production Pushed to 2021 Due to COVID-19
Don Mancini’s Child’s Play TV series, Chucky was set to shoot in Toronto this fall. But today we learned production has been pushed back until next year due to COVID-19. The show was already set to hit SYFY and USA Network next year, so we’re hoping this delay won’t push it’s premiere back too much.
We’ll let you know when we hear more.
It begins after a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies and allies from Chucky’s past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll’s untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster. Brad Dourif returns to voice the titular killer doll and Jennifer Tilly reprises her role as Tiffany Valentine
Franchise creator Don Mancini will write, serve as showrunner, direct the pilot , and executive produce with David Kirschner (Hocus Pocus, Frailty), Nick Antosca (The Act, Channel Zero), and Harley Peyton (Twin Peaks, Channel Zero).
Here’s the teaser.
