James Frain Gets Grimm

The first bit of casting news for Season 2 of NBC’s “Grimm” is here, and it’s pretty damned perfect if we do say so ourselves. Read on for all the latest concerning the Peacock’s horror offering which happens to be a lot better than you’d expect!

ZAP2it reports that James Frain (pictured right; “True Blood”) has been cast as the brother of Captain Sean Renard (Sasha Roiz) on the spooky procedural. Frain will play Eric Renard in what’s being described as a recurring guest star. The character, who doesn’t have the greatest relationship with his brother, comes to Portland after a very bad creature makes its way into town. Needless to say, Eric has his own plans, and it looks like Nick (David Giuntoli) is the target.

Inspired by Grimms’ fairy tales, “Grimm” follows Portland homicide Detective Nick Burkhardt, played by David Giuntoli, as he battles supernatural forces. Bitsie Tulloch portrays his fiancée, Juliette Silverton, with Russell Hornsby as his partner, Hank Griffin, and Silas Weir Mitchell as his confidant, Monroe. Reggie Lee and Sasha Roiz co-star. It is produced by Universal Television with Hazy Mills Prods. and GK Prods. Sean Hayes, Todd Milliner, David Greenwalt, Jim Kouf, Naren Shankar, and Norberto Barba are executive producers.
