Jamie Lee Curtis Celebrates 5th Anniversary of SCREAM QUEENS
This week marks the five-year anniversary of American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy’s killer horror-comedy slasher series Scream Queens with Emma Roberts, Jamie Lee Curtis, Billie Lourd, and Abigail Breslin.
And to mark the occasion, Curtis took to Instagram to honor the series, expressing her admiration for the show and her co-stars, writing: “Well… 5 years ago TONIGHT [Scream Queens] had its debut. What weird and wonderful fun we had.”
Check out her post below.
The first season was written by Ryan Murphy & Brad Falchuk & Ian Brennan and focused on the Kappa Kappa Tau sorority, led by Chanel Oberlin (Emma Roberts) and her fellow Chanels #2 (Ariana Grande), #3 (Billie Lourd), and #5 (Abigail Breslin), who are threatened by Dean Cathy Munsch (Jamie Lee Curtis). Events reignite a 20-year-old murder mystery, with the reemergence of the serial killer dressed as the Red Devil mascot, who begins targeting the sorority members.
It has 68% on Rotten Tomatoes with this Consensus: Too tasteless for mainstream viewers and too silly for horror enthusiasts, Scream Queens fails to satisfy.
Meanwhile, season 2 centered on the girls of Kappa Tau leaving the hallowed halls of Wallace University in favor of another institution, this one with a medical bent. Having moved past the events at their sorority house, the remaining Chanels have begun training to be physicians in a hospital recently acquired by Cathy Munsch, their former dean, where they are joined by Chad Radwell, and a couple handsome new faces — secretive head surgeon Dr. Brock Holt and Dr. Cassidy Cascade, who suffers from a strange medical condition. As strange things start happening around the hospital, the former students reunite with investigator Denise Hemphill.
