Occupation: Rainfall, one of Australia’s biggest ever sci-fi films, has been released ahead of the film’s World Premiere screenings at Monster Fest 2020 on October 30th in Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth. Australian distributor Monster Pictures will host the World Premiere screenings with key cast and crew in attendance.

Give the epic trailer a spin and read more about the movie below.

Synopsis:
Occupation: Rainfall picks up two years into the intergalactic invasion of Earth with survivors in Sydney, Australia fighting back in a desperate ground war. As casualties mount by the day, the resistance and their unexpected allies uncover a plot that could see the war come to a decisive end. With the Alien invaders hell-bent on making earth their new home, the race is on to save mankind.

Filmed entirely in the Gold Coast, Occupation: Rainfall is produced by mother and daughter duo Carly & Carmel Imrie (Occupation, Red Billabong) and co-executive producer, Todd Williams (The Nun, Alex and Me). Monster Pictures are distributors across Australia and New Zealand. Film Mode Entertainment has sales rights outside Australia and New Zealand.

Filmmaker Luke Sparke’s highly anticipated follow-up to the 2018 sci-fi blockbuster stars a topline cast of international and Australian stars and features effects by the same Australian teams and artists that were a part of Thor: Ragnarok, I am Mother and Spider-Man: Homecoming. Occupation: Rainfall stars Ken Jeong (Crazy Rich Asians, The Hangover Trilogy), Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter), Daniel Gillies (The Originals, Vampire Diaries), Dan Ewing (Love and Monsters), Dena Kaplan (Dance Academy), Temuera Morrison (Aquaman), Mark Coles Smith (Last Cab To Darwin), Jet Tranter (Thor Ragnarok), Lawrence Makoare (The Lord Of The Rings), David Roberts (The Matrix 2 & 3), Vince Colosimo (Chopper), Zac Garred (General Hospital) and Trystan Go (The Family Law).

Episode 266: Opus Writer/Director Mark Anthony Green and Michael Jackson's Thriller (1983)
This week we were unbelievably excited to chat with writer and director Mark Anthony Green! We talk about his feature film debut Opus, working with musical icons The-Dream and Nile Rodgers, Ayo Edebiri's star power and the eccentricities (and graciousness) of John Malkovich. Mark Anthony shares a fantastic story of John on set and so much more before we dig a bit into his horror history and find out why Michael Jackson's Thriller music video scared him as a kid. A shorter episode this week, but easily one of our favorite conversations in a long while. Don't miss it. And go see Opus in theaters!Follow Mary Beth, Terry and the Podcast on Bluesky.
