Chloe Moretz on Becoming Carrie

Recently the young lass who’ll be terrifying audiences as Carrie White, Chloe Moretz, spoke a bit about her preparation for the role and what to expect when the flick gets here. We have to say we like what we’re hearing! Read on!
“I am changing everything about me—my hair, my look,” Moretz tells Vanity Fair. “I’m doing my own take on [the character]. The script is totally different from the [original]. It’s more like the book. It’s a more Black Swan version—it messes with your mind. You’ll see things, and you don’t know if you’ve seen them.”
When she returns to set, she’ll meet Julianne Moore, who plays Carrie’s terrifying mother. “I don’t know if we are supposed to bond [because of our characters’ relationship], but I feel like we both will because we’re both cool,” Moretz joked.
Carrie stars Julianne Moore as Margaret White, Carrie’s mom, Gabriella Wilde in the role of Sue Snell, Portia Doubleday as Chris Hargensen, Judy Greer as Miss Desjardin, the gym teacher, Alex Russell, Ansel Elgort, and of course Chloe Moretz in the title role.
Look for Kim Peirce’s Carrie to be in theatres on March 15, 2013.
In the story shy high school student Carrie White (Chloe Moretz) is raised by a nightmarish religious fanatic mother (Moore) and comes to grip with devastating telepathic powers just as she reaches puberty. She eventually uses those gifts for lethal means when fellow classmates use the prom as an excuse to humiliate her before the entire school in a parable about bullying.
Sissy Spacek played the character in the first movie, with Piper Laurie playing her mother, and Amy Irving, Nancy Allen, John Travolta, Betty Buckley, and William Katt rounding out the cast. Both Spacek and Laurie got Oscar nominations for their work in the 1976 film.
