Stephen King Enjoying Netflix’s RATCHED

Netflix and American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy’s killer new horror series Ratched with Sarah Paulson is a whole hell of a lot of fun. And today it looks like The Shining and The Stand author Stephen King is enjoying the series as well.

He tweets: “Enjoying RATCHED. The music is positively Hitchcockian.”

Check out his tweet below.

Created by Evan Romansky and developed by Murphy, the series is based on the character from Ken Kesey’s 1962 novel One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.

The suspenseful drama series tells the origin story of asylum nurse Mildred Ratched. In 1947, Mildred arrives in Northern California to seek employment at a leading psychiatric hospital where new and unsettling experiments have begun on the human mind. On a clandestine mission, Mildred presents herself as the perfect image of what a dedicated nurse should be, but the wheels are always turning and as she begins to infiltrate the mental health care system and those within it, Mildred’s stylish exterior belies a growing darkness that has long been smoldering within, revealing that true monsters are made, not born.

The show sports a 60% on Rotten Tomatoes with this Critics Consensus: Ratched is undeniably stylish, but salacious plot holes and cartoonish characterizations undermine its gorgeous production and committed performances.
