Netflix & Neil Gaiman’s THE SANDMAN Series Snags Tom Sturridge as Dream?

Netflix’s adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman will shoot soon. And today we learned Tom Sturridge (Velvet Buzzsaw, Mary Shelley) is in talks to star as Dream.

Collider says Sturridge tested for the role earlier this year with Tom York (Poldark) and Colin Morgan (Merlin) but pulled ahead as the favorite in the past few weeks.

What do you think? Let us know below.

Gaiman is executive producing the 11-episode series with David S. Goyer (Batman Begins, Blade) and writer/showrunner Allan Heinberg (Wonder Woman, Scandal).

The Sandman is a story about stories and how Morpheus, the Lord of Dreams, is captured and subsequently learns that sometimes change is inevitable. Morpheus is one of the seven Endless. The others are Destiny, Death, Desire, Despair, Delirium /Delight, and Destruction / The Prodigal. The original comic series ran for 75 issues from January 1989 to March 1996. Its artists include Sam Kieth, Mike Dringenberg, Jill Thompson, Shawn McManus, Marc Hempel, and Michael Zulli, with lettering by Todd Klein and covers by Dave McKean.
