Netflix & Ryan Murphy JEFFREY DAHMER Mini-Series Shoots in January
Netflix has greenlighted a limited series by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan called Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story with Richard Jenkins (The Shape Of Water) as Dahmer’s father Lionel. A nationwide search underway for an actor to play Dahmer.
The series will showcase at least 10 times where Dahmer was almost caught but let go. It will touch on white privilege, as Dahmer was given a free pass by cops.
Production on the 10-episode limited series that spans the 1960s, ’70s, and ’80s and ends with Dahmer’s arrest in the early ’90s is slated to begin in January.
Carl Franklin (Mindhunter) will direct the pilot and Janet Mock (Hollywood) will direct and write several episodes. The two executive produce with Murphy, Brennan, Alexis Martin Woodall, and Eric Kovtun (Ratched). Brennan and Mock will write the series with David McMillan, who will serve as a supervising producer. Rashad Johnson of Color of Change, a racial justice project, also will serve as a supervising producer. Scott Robertson (Halston) is a co-producer.
