Netflix & Mike Flanagan’s MIDNIGHT MASS Described as SALEM’S LOT Meets THE PERFECT STORM
Netflix and Mike Flanagan recently started shooting their new miniseries Midnight Mass. And today, Alex Essoe (Starry Eyes) talked a bit about her mysterious role in the mysterious new series, teasing Salem’s Lot meets The Perfect Storm.
She tells MovieWeb: “In a nutshell, it’s kind of like Salem’s Lot meets The Perfect Storm. A sleepy little island community of staunch Catholics, and their belief is their undoing. I’ll put it that way. I won’t say anything about what character I’m playing because it’s such a great surprise. I can’t really go on about that one.”
She adds: “If I do it right, you won’t know it’s me.”
Sounds like fun to me!
While not much is known about the new seven-episode series, we do know it centers on an isolated island community that experiences miraculous events (and frightening omens) after the arrival of a charismatic, mysterious young priest.
Flanagan will direct and executive produces with Trevor Macy.
While there isn’t currently word on when the streaming giant plans to unleash Mike Flanagan’s new nightmare, The Haunting of Bly Manor hits this Friday, October 9th.
