Haley Joel Osment Up for THE SIXTH SENSE PART II
Haley Joel Osment earned an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor in M. Night Shyamalan’s The Sixth Sense with Bruce Willis. And today, Osment says he’d happily join The Sixth Sense Part II or The Seventh Sense, or whatever.
He tells ComicBook.com: “I doubt that he would do a third crossover, but anytime Night calls, that’s his universe, so I’d definitely be up to dive in there with him again. It’s crazy, we had the 20th anniversary of the film last fall and we did a screening at Hollywood Forever and all that stuff and it’s wild that it’s been that many years.”
The original film found Osment playing a kid haunted by the dark secret he’s visited by ghosts. Frightened by visitations from those with unresolved problems who appear from the shadow,he is too afraid to tell anyone about his anguish, except child psychologist Dr. Malcolm Crowe (Bruce Willis). As Dr. Crowe tries to uncover the truth about Cole’s supernatural abilities, the consequences for client and therapist are a jolt that awakens them both to something unexplainable.
Along with Osment’s above-mentioned Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor, the supernatural thriller was nominated for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Supporting Actress for Toni Collette (Hereditary).
