With The Pact (review) available now on IFC Midnight Cable VOD and other digital outlets (like SundanceNOW, iTunes, Amazon Streaming, XBOX Zune, and Playstation Unlimited) and heading to theaters starting this Friday, July 6th, we got our hands on two new behind-the-scenes videos for the film.
In addition, note that director Nicholas McCarthy will be at the 8:30 pm showing of The Pact in New York City on Friday, the 6th (IFC Center, 323 6th Ave. at W. 3rd St.)
The Pact centers on a woman who returns home to attend her mother’s funeral, only to feel something strange and unsettling in the house she grew up in. Caity Lotz and Casper Van Dien star, and the project is based on a short film McCarthy screened at the 2011 Sundance fest.
Synopsis
After their mother passes away, sisters Nicole and Annie reluctantly return to their childhood home to pay their last respects. While staying overnight in the house, the sisters sense a mysterious presence in their midst: noises startling them in the night, objects moving about, a fallen picture of an unknown woman posed next to their mother. Annie begins experiencing a series of intense and disturbing dreams – visions that lead her to uncover something terrible about her mother’s past that is finally revealing itself.
