Dig read scripts? Well, today we have the screenplay for High Tension director Alexandre Aja’s creature feature Crawl with Kaya Scodelario and Barry Pepper.

Written by Michael and Shawn Rasmussen and produced by Sam Raimi (Evil Dead), it begins when a massive hurricane hits her Florida town, a young girl ignores evacuation orders to search for her missing father. After finding him gravely injured in their family home, the two become trapped by the rapidly encroaching floodwaters. With the storm strengthening, they discover an even greater threat than the rising water level — a relentless attack from a pack of gigantic alligators.

Rated R for bloody creature violence and brief language, the film sports an 83% on Rotten Tomatoes with a Critics Consensus that reads: An action-packed creature feature that’s fast, terrifying, and benefits greatly from a completely game Kaya Scodelario, Crawl is a fun throw-back with just enough self-awareness to work.
