Misha Green Wants to Reboot IT & INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE

Now that Lovecraft Country has wrapped up its killer first season, showrunner Misha Green says she’d love to turn Stephen King’s IT into a limited series and do a multicultural reboot of Anne Rice’s Interview With the Vampire.

Green tells THR: “I would love to do a limited series of Stephen King’s It. It’s my favorite novel of all time, but it’s such a thick book that you need time to sit with every character and really get into their fear. You could do a two-hour movie, but imagine a seven-season It.”

She adds: “Yeah, we need Interview With the Vampire vampires. Imagine a multicultural Interview With the Vampire. What does that look like from all those different angles going through centuries of American history?

Lovecraft Country is streaming on HBO Max and HBO On Demand.

Development Hell: The Unmade Horror Movie Podcast
Cary Fukanaga's IT (with Emily Gagne)
The Development Hell podcast revisits their episode on Cary Fukunaga’s (TRUE DETECTIVE) unmade adaptation of Stephen King’s IT! With guest Emily Gagne, this episode uncovered a very different (and darker) vision of Stephen King’s seminal work of terror. Emily Gagne is a filmmaker, podcaster and writer. She curates FINAL GIRL FASHION on Instagram, an account showcasing the killer outfits of women in horror. Emily also co-hosts the podcasts We Really Like Her! And What About Meryll? Together they cover the IT miniseries, both feature films and the classic Stephen King novel which started it all. That’s when they dive into Cary Fukunaga’s and Chase Palmer's 2014 draft of the IT adaptation which was ultimately cancelled. Furthermore, they explore the nitty-gritty differences between the Andy Muschietti vision of Derry and how it compares to the Fukanga/Chase draft.Emily and Josh also speculate wildly about why Warner Brothers jumped ship after developing IT with Fukanga for nearly five years. If you are a fan of Stephen King’s IT and Pennywise the Dancing Clown? If so, you won't want to miss this episode. Do you think the recent films did the book justice? Let us know on social media! You’ll float too … but only if you subscribe to the pod on Apple, Spotify or anywhere you get your podcasts! Development Hell is also a proud member of the Dread Podcast Network. For every horror title to hit V.O.D, countless others end up D.O.A! Development Hell is the podcast dedicated to unearthing these cursed horror productions — to find out what went wrong — and decide if they still stand a shot at the green light.Make sure to check out past episodes including Neill Blomkamp’s Alien V, the cancelled Hellraiser reboot, and Freddy vs Jason vs Ash!Follow the Podcast: @DevelopmentHell on Instagram @DevelHellPod on Twitter @JoshKorngut on bothFollow Emily Gagne: @EmilyGagne on Twitter @LadyGagagne on Instagram @FinalGirlFashion on Instagram
