Zack Snyder’s ARMY OF THE DEAD Zombies Are “Really Fast and Scary,” Teases Garret Dillahunt

Dawn of the Dead and Watchmen director Zack Snyder’s ball to the wall Las Vegas zombie heist epic Army of the Dead will be hitting Netflix sometime next year. And today, Garret Dillahunt (Fear the Walking Dead, The Last House on the Left) teased that once again, Synder’s zombies are really fast and scary.

Dillahunt tells ComicBook.com: “I’m excited to see [Army of the Dead], too. To have different ideas about zombies, which is refreshing, I think, in a lot of ways. And I know I have to keep this so vague, I’m sorry. I don’t know when the thing’s coming out now. Sometime next year. They strayed away from a lot of normal zombie canon, that for some reason, everyone adheres to. You’re like, ‘Maybe they don’t have to be that way. What if they were this way?’ ‘Oh, that’s a nice wrinkle.’ The zombies are scary, I’ll tell you that. The zombies are really fast and scary.”

Bring it on!

Army of the Dead is said to be a spiritual successor to Dawn of the Dead and centers on a group of mercenaries as they plot a heist on a Las Vegas casino during a zombie outbreak. It stars Dave Bautista , Ella Purnell, Ana De La Reguera, Theo Rossi, Huma Qureshi, Omari Hardwick, Hiroyuki Sanada, Garret Dillahunt, Matthias Schweighöfer, Raúl Castillo, Nora Arnezeder, and Samantha Win.
