From the Press Release:
Blue Infinity Films presents While the Village Sleeps, the second feature produced, co-written, and directed by Chloë Bellande (Battle of Souls). This indie thriller shot on a low budget in St-Donat, Québec, is the first installment of Bellande’s Lynched Series franchise.
The film is based on the popular card game Werewolf, and the story centers on the gruesome events that occurred to a group of friends after they played the game. The cast ensemble of nine new faces includes Michelle Cain, Alain Alabré, Rob Brown, Emma Sawyer, Silvana Sanchez, Chad Ashe, Jess Abran, Thomas Lamb, and Ryveann Morris.
While the Village Sleeps tells the story of a group of friends who spend one night in a cabin in Cedar Creek, New Jersey, before heading to Atlantic City for the weekend. They find the card game Werewolf and Villagers and decide to play. During the game players are given a card which assigns them a specific role. The goal of the villagers is to lynch all the werewolves before they bluff their way through the game and have all the villagers executed. What they believe to be only a game changes suddenly when the players are mysteriously killed in the same pattern they did while playing the game… the only way to survive is to outwit the werewolf deck.
While the Village Sleeps will debut in Montreal at 7:00 pm on July 26, 2012, at Cinema du Parc, after which it will be presented worldwide in various independent film festivals.
