Michael Bay & Jake Gyllenhaal Team for New Thriller AMBULANCE
The Rock and Armageddon director Michael Bay will helm the new action-thriller Ambulance with Jake Gyllenhaal in talks to star. Bay plans to shoot in January.
We hear it’s the vein of ’90s flicks like Jan De Bont’s Speed and Bay’s Bad Boys.
Chris Fedak penned the script, based on the Danish film which followed two brothers who commit a robbery to pay their mother’s medical bills but are forced to steal an ambulance during their getaway… with a dying heart patient in the back.
No distribution deal has been announced, but we hear Universal is finalizing a deal for the rights. James Vanderbilt, Bradley Fischer, and Will Sherak are producing.
Bay most recently directed Netflix’s 6 Underground with Ryan Reynolds and produced Adam Mason’s upcoming pandemic thriller Songbird with K.J. Apa.
Gyllenhaal is currently working on The Guilty with director Antoine Fuqua (Training Day) and Dune and Prisoners director Denis VIlleneuve’s HBO series The Son.
