Mary Shelley’s FRANKENSTEIN ‘Premium TV Series’ In the Works

Stone Village Television (HBO’s Empire Falls) has partnered with BlackBox Multimedia to adapt Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein as a premium TV series.

The reimagining will be penned by Bradley McManus (Bodyguard of Lies) and will be set in Europe. It focuses on “the behaviors and obsessions of a scientist exploring the fine thread between life and death – all set against the context of a year in which dependence on scientific breakthroughs has been paramount.”

For those that might not know, the classic tale of terror follows the obsessed scientist Dr. Frankenstein as he attempts to create life by assembling a creature from body parts of the deceased. Frankenstein succeeds in animating his monster, but it escapes and begins to wreak havoc. Frankenstein searches for the elusive being, and eventually must confront his tormented creation.
