INFEX is a new interactive horror/thriller graphic novel from Keith Arem and Brandon Humphreys available only for iPad, and we have a look at some of the artwork in this app that blends what’s being done now with graphic novels and motion comics for tablets and adds in a cinematic element.
The creators debuted INFEX at the just concluded San Diego Comic-Con. It is one of the first interactive graphic novels to feature a celebrity voice cast including Lance Henriksen (Aliens, Terminator), Michael Wincott (The Crow), and William Fichtner (Drive Angry, Elysium).
Arem describes the app as “the next generation of graphic novels, incorporating animation, music, and sound to heighten user interactivity to levels that have never been seen before in a book.” You can learn more at the rather spooky INFEX website or on iTunes.
Synopsis:
Action-thriller INFEX shadows cancer survivor Evelyn “Ivy” Kendall, who discovers her father’s chemotherapy research contains the secret to ending human disease and is the blueprint for creating genetically engineered monsters. But when her father is murdered for his technology, Ivy is unaware of the lethal mutation he has hidden inside her. Fifteen years later her father’s company, IngenBio Corporation, discovers her secret and imprisions Ivy in their underground labyrinth. Assisted by former soldier Garrett Thorne, they must escape the facility and expose the truth about her father’s murder.
