This Friday, August 3rd, Len Wiseman’s new Total Recall flick arrives in theaters courtesy of Columbia Pictures, and to get you guys ready, Dread Central recently caught up with several stars from the film including the always lovely and badass Kate Beckinsale.

In Total Recall the British actress plays the quintessential “Wife from Hell” Lori Quaid, the seemingly loving spouse to Doug Quaid (Colin Farrell) who turns out to have some deadly ulterior motives after hidden memories locked away in Doug’s head get triggered during a trip to Rekall- a company that implants fake memories for its clientele of unfulfilled dreams and more exciting lives than the ones they lead.

Based on the classic Phillip K. Dick story “We Can Remember It for You Wholesale,” Total Recall also stars Jessica Biel, Bryan Cranston, Bookeem Woodbine, Bill Nighy and John Cho.

During our exclusive chat with Beckinsale she discussed kicking things up a notch in the badass department in her latest film as well as the fun of playing a character with two distinctive sides and how there’s more than just a lot of great action going on in Total Recall.

Check out our video interview below, and look for more on Total Recall throughout the week!

Synopsis
Welcome to Rekall, the company that can turn your dreams into real memories. For a factory worker named Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell), even though he’s got a beautiful wife (Kate Beckinsale) whom he loves, the mind-trip sounds like the perfect vacation from his frustrating life – real memories of life as a super-spy might be just what he needs. But when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Quaid becomes a hunted man. Finding himself on the run from the police – controlled by Chancellor Cohaagen (Bryan Cranston) – there is no one Quaid can trust, except possibly a rebel fighter (Jessica Biel) working for the head of the underground resistance (Bill Nighy). The line between fantasy and reality gets blurred and the fate of his world hangs in the balance as Quaid discovers his true identity, his true love, and his true fate.
