THE STAND: Ezra Miller is Trashcan Man in Stephen King’s New Miniseries

Ezra Miller plays Trashcan Man in Stephen King’s The Stand. And today we have your first look at CBS All Access’ upcoming adaptation via EW.

Check him out below!

Ezra Miller as Trashcan Man in Stephen King’s THE STAND

Miller’s Trashcan Man in this version of The Stand basically wears no clothes. As you can (kinda) see from the pics above. Well, except for tactical gear. He’s just kind of in underwear and combat boots. Go figure, Miller came up with the outfit.

Miller adds: “Fireproof underwear’ were two of the first words out of my mouth in the first conceptual meeting. I was very interested in working directly with the wardrobe department in creating a look based entirely on the practical demands of the characters pyromania. Trash wears nothing but what is necessary to craft incendiaries, ignite them, and get as close to the flames as possible.”

He adds: “In order to revel in the fire.”

Showrunner Benjamin Cavell says: “It’s so different from any way that anyone has seen Erza before, and he’s so committed to it. He’s a huge fan of the book and had fallen in love with this character and wanted to play it for a long time. On our first call, he described Trash as ‘the embodiment of pyromania.’ The only thing this guy was capable of, and the only area in life he was comfortable, were with the explosives and instruments of fire and destruction.”

Cavell adds: “The character has to be right on the edge of over-the-top. But no matter how strangely he’s behaving there’s always this Ezra Miller soul as a twinkle coming through. I can’t say enough about how brilliant he is in it.”

Miller says: “What excites me is the deception of behavior and appearances. Trash is the underestimated and misinterpreted amongst us.”

The Stand is an apocalyptic vision of the struggle between good and also evil of a world decimated by plague. The fate of mankind rests on the shoulders of the 108-year-old Mother Abagail and also a handful of survivors. Their worst nightmares are embodied by a nefarious man with unspeakable powers: Randall Flagg.

The Stand also hits CBS All Access on December 17, 2020.
