Sequel to Shocking Shark Attack Horror THE REEF in the Works?
The “Ozploitation” survival horror The Reef, released in 2010, is one of the most intense and underrated shark-attack movies ever made. Today, our friends at Bloody Disgusting announced that a sequel to The Reef is in the works, with original director Andrew Traucki at the helm.
Here’s the reported synopsis for The Reef 2, set to begin filming in the summer of 2021:
In an effort to heal after witnessing her sister’s horrific murder, Nic, her sister Annie and two close friends travel to a remote Pacific island for a kayaking and diving adventure. Only hours into their expedition, the women are stalked and then attacked by a massive Great White. To survive the women will need to band together, and Nic will have to overcome her post-traumatic stress, face her fears and slay a monster.
If it’s been a while, or if you’ve never experienced the white-knuckle intensity of 2010’s The Reef, give the trailer and synopsis a spin below.
Synopsis:
A sailing trip becomes a disaster for a group of friends when the boat sinks and a white shark hunts the helpless passengers.
