PREDATOR Plot Details Reveal Reboot’s Set In The Past

Disney and 20th Century Studios’ Predator 5 coming soon from director Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane). And now, we may know the first plot details.

According to AVP Galaxy, “Predator 5 will be set in the past (finally!) where it will focus around Native Americans before the territories were taken by the American settlers, featuring a First Nations cast.”

They put this together from several pieces. Back in December, Trachtenberg was developing a film with 20th Century Studios and Disney called Skulls. A film also penned by Patrick Aison. And produced by long time Predator producer John Davis. It’s likely that Skulls is Predator 5‘s working title/codename.

Skulls will follow a Comanche woman who goes against gender norms and traditions to become a warrior.

I’m not convinced these are the same movies. But it kind of makes sense considering the other day, Trachtenberg revealed the new Predator movie was set to be a surprise. One he’s been working on for FOUR YEARS.

The powers that be at Disney are keeping details about the new film’s plot under wraps. But we do know that it will follow the events of Shane Black’s The Predator. Patrick Aison (Kingdom, Jack Ryan, Treadstone) will pen the screenplay.

Written by Black and Fred Dekker, The Predator starred Boyd Holbrook and Trevante Rhodes. Jacob Tremblay co-starred with Keegan-Michael Key, Olivia Munn, Thomas Jane, Alfie Allen, and Sterling K. Brown.

Meanwhile, the original film followed Dutch (Arnold Schwarzenegger), a soldier of fortune, hired by the U.S. government to secretly rescue trapped politicians in Guatemala. But when Dutch and his team land in Central America, something is gravely wrong. After finding a string of dead bodies, the crew discovers they are being hunted by a brutal creature with the ability to disappear into its surroundings.
