So what if he technically died in the original Sin City? Marv is friggin’ tough as nails! As of today Mickey Rourke is looking to be back in the film’s sequel, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. Read on for all the details.
According to Deadline, Mickey Rourke is now in negotiations to make a return trip to Sin City 2, the Robert Rodriguez/Frank Miller sequel. He’ll reprise his role of Marv, the hulking tough guy with a soft spot for women.
The film, a Quick Draw Production, will be produced by Robert Rodriguez and producing partners Aaron Kaufman and Iliana Nikolic and by Alexander Rodnyansky and Sergei Bespalov and Stephen L’Hereux. Frank Miller, The Weinstein Company’s Harvey and Bob Weinstein and Miramax’s Adam Fields will act as executive producers. Sin City: A Dame to Kill For was developed by Miller based upon his graphic novel with a screenplay by Miller and Academy Award winner William Monahan (The Departed). The film is expected to begin production this summer at Rodriguez’s Troublemaker Studios in Austin, Texas.
“The film is about Dwight McCarthy planing to have his vengeance against the woman who betrayed him, Ava Lord, while Nancy is trying to cope with Hartigan’s death.”
Look for it in theatres on October 4th, 2013!
