Nicolas Cage Will Examine HISTORY OF SWEAR WORDS in New Netflix Series
Netflix has announced an all-new (educational!) docuseries. Funny or Die and B17 Entertainment (The Great Debate) will be examining History of Swear Words. Oh, also, the six-episode series is hosted by Nicolas Cage (Captain Corelli’s Mandolin).
It hits next month. Check out the first clip below.
Here’s the official synopsis for History of Swear Words: An education in expletives: the history lesson you didn’t know you needed. History of Swear Words, hosted by Nicolas Cage, is a loud and proudly profane series that explores the origins, pop culture-usage, science, and cultural impact of curse words. Through interviews with experts in etymology, pop culture, historians, and entertainers, the six-episode series dives into the origins of “Fk”, “Sht”, “Btch”, “Dk”, “Pu**y”, and “Damn”.
History of Swear Words features guests like Joel Kim Booster, Open Mike Eagle, and Nikki Glaser. Patti Harrison also joins with London Hughes, Jim Jefferies, and Nick Offerman. Oh, and Sarah Silverman, Baron Vaughn, and Isiah Whitlock Jr.
Bellamie Blackstone (I Love You, America) serves as showrunner on the series. Mike Farah, Joe Farrell, Beth Belew, and also Rhett Bachner executive produce.
History of Swear Words comes to Netflix on January 5, 2021.
