You may not know the name, but if you watch AMC’s “Breaking Bad,” you definitely know the face (and finger) of Mark Margolis, who has joined the cast of Chiller TV’s original movie Beneath.
From the Press Release:
Fresh off his recent casting in Darren Aronofsky’s Noah, Mark Margolis has joined the cast of Chiller’s original movie Beneath, which just started production in Oxford, Connecticut, with an eye towards a spring 2013 premiere. Beneath stars Danny Zovatto (Innocence), Bonnie Dennison (Stake Land, “Third Watch”), Chris Conroy (Sorority Row), Jonny Orsini (Imogene), Griffin Newman (“Political Animals”), and Mackenzie Rosman (“7th Heaven”). Margolis plays Mr. Parks, a hardened local authority on the local lake’s murky history.
Beneath is written by Tony Daniel and Brian D. Smith and directed by horror icon Larry Fessenden (The Last Winter, Habit). It’s produced by Fessenden and Peter Phok for Glass Eye Pix (Stake Land, The Innkeepers, I Sell The Dead).
Margolis recently received an Emmy nomination for his role as Hector “Tio” Salamanca on AMC’s hit “Breaking Bad.” He has the distinction of having worked on all of Darren Aronofsky’s films, starting with PI back in 1998 and including Requiem for a Dream, The Wrestler, and Black Swan.
Synopsis:
When a group of young friends commemorating their high school graduation takes a trip to the remote Black Lake, their celebration turns into a nightmare with the sudden appearance of a bloodthirsty underwater predator. Stuck in a leaking boat with no oars, the teens face the ultimate tests of friendship and sacrifice during a terror-stricken fight for survival.
