Synopsis:
Written and directed by Mr. H, Black Fields story follows a clan of barbaric raiders, relishing in the glory of their latest bloody venture, traversing an ancient and unknown land, looking for their way home. Unfortunately, this will be no simple task as there is something, in the darkness, that even these seasoned warriors should fear.

Upon its initial announcement in February this year, Production H Films saw an immediate and overwhelmingly positive reaction from a large audience who agreed that too many recent films were just lazy repackaged narratives that came in the form of sequels, prequels, rethinks, reimaginings, etc.

“This film is possible because of the audience. They are equally a collaborator as well as an investor. This is them calling out for new ideas, characters, and overall better storytelling in films. Black Fields is for that often-ignored audience who are obviously starving for a new age in filmmaking.”

Mr. H

Audiences of Black Fields will witness an obvious homage and welcomed return to the fundamentals of ’80s horror filmmaking seamlessly blended with a unique creative style. Black Fields’ aesthetics are firmly rooted in gory practical effects with actors being equipped with expertly handcrafted props and weaponry.

The production, pushing to provide an authentic and tangible experience, filmed completely on location. Set in the near-mystical and diverse landscape of Hampshire’s national park, the New Forrest, the natural surroundings become another character to follow within the story of Black Fields. While experiencing unique and dynamic camera work, not often found in this scale of filmmaking, the film’s dark tones are laced with synth wave music to further deliver on the classic horror vibe.

As soon as pre-production started in February an unprecedented global pandemic systematically limited or removed normal services and resources required to make the film.

As crippling as the pandemic was for large Hollywood productions, Production H Films is an independent and infinitely more adaptable entity; they found themselves still being able to function and manage hundreds of different production elements in the UK and aboard. As Black Fields developed, so did Production H Films, as they clearly identified their strengths as filmmakers and a hugely under-serviced audiences. They promise there are further stories to tell going forward in 2021.
