‘The Third Saturday In October Part I’ Exclusive Clip: There’s Something Evil In The Fog

The Third Saturday In October Part I

Many of us have the experience of watching a classic franchise out of order. For me, I remember watching Halloween Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers on AMC when I was kid before I really even understood who Michael Myers was. Director Jay Burleson wants to emulate that experience with his own “lost” slasher franchise. That’s why he made The Third Saturday In October Part V and Part I. Framed as a lost franchise, he advises to watch Part V before Part I for the full experience.

We’re excited to share an exclusive clip from Part I to give you an idea of the vibe Burleson created to make this feel like a genuine 1970s slasher.

Read the synopsis for The Third Saturday In October Part I:

A lost slasher film from the golden age of the slasher genre. October 1979. Ricky Dean is a man on a mission. Years ago, he lost a child at the hands of a psychopathic killer named Jakkariah Harding. When Harding escapes Death Row, Ricky Dean throws himself into the line of fire to stop him from killing again as Harding preys upon a group of friends gathered to watch a college football game.

Of our exclusive clip, Burleson said:

Ricky Dean (Darius Willis) and Vicki Newton (KJ Baker) have already witnessed the execution of Jakkariah Harding, a madman responsible for killing their children years ago. In this clip, they arrive at the cemetery to see him put in the ground for good… but Ricky Dean isn’t so sure he’s actually dead.

For Part I, we wanted to authentically capture the essence of the late ‘70s and early ‘80s horror movies we grew up loving. Not only did we want the movie to take place in 1979 but we also wanted it to feel like it came FROM 1979 or from some alternate version of the past. Hopefully this clip gives you all a nice taste of that atmosphere. Those fog machines were a pain to work with, but they helped create a great mood for our scene.

Both The Third Saturday In October Part I and Part V are out now on digital and VOD.
