GODZILLA VS KONG: Legendary Wants $250M Before New HBO Max Release
The Guest and You’re Next director Adam Wingard’s epic monster mash Godzilla Vs Kong will smash into theaters and HBO Max on May 2021. Maybe. Primarily financed by Legendary Pictures, the studio will only allow it to stream if WB hands over $250 million – the price Netflix originally offered for the film.
Deadline reports: “Godzilla Vs Kong might stay an HBO Max hybrid in its May 21 slot, but only if Warner Bros makes a deal with Legendary that uses as a base the $250 million value established when the film was shopped earlier to Netflix.”
