Killer New BLADE Art Showcases Mahershala Ali as the Daywalker

Marvel’s new Blade movie with Mahershala Ali (Moonlight) is still, thankfully, in the works. And today we have some killer new artwork for your viewing pleasure.

It comes from Apexform on Instagram, who writes: “I wanted to mix it up today from the spiderman 3, Snyder cut, Mandalorian art. So I created a poster to generate some hype, and to just remind everyone, just in case you forgot, that we are getting OSCAR winner Mahershala Ali as Blade in the near future.

Check out the poster is below.

The new flick might hit theaters in 2022. Maybe. But either way, we’ll keep you updated as we hear more. In the meantime, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige recently assuring us fans that the reboot is “coming together.” Better yet, he says we will be treated to more substantial news in the very near future.

Feige says: “As we announced at Comic-Con last year, we’re moving ahead with Blade, starring Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali. The development and storylines are coming together, and we’ll have announcements very, very soon.”

Marvel’s Wesley Snipes-less reboot of the classic character for the MCU has no director is currently attached. But Disney and Marvel are currently looking for writers. There is no word currently on who they are specifically looking into. But a THR article says that they are looking for “Black behind-the-camera talent.”

The first adaptation starred Snipes as Marvel’s iconic half-vampire, half-human vampire hunter. Searching for the vampire that killed his mother and turned him into a monster, Blade’s fight leads him to Deacon Frost (Stephen Dorff). Frost is a rising force in the vampire world, set on raising a God bent on destroying mankind.
