New Info Finds HOME ALONE Booby Traps Are 100% Legal

Huh. It looks like the (most-likely) lethal booby traps in Home Alone aren’t illegal. Defense attorney Mike Buresh took to Twitter this Christmas too dive into the classic. And ultimately declared that Kevin doesn’t break the law.

Buresh says it’s “fairly permissive” to use force in defense of a dwelling. And while Kevin’s traps could cause super-death, they’re totally cool because Jigsaw junior believed his actions were necessary. Meaning, Harry and Marv express “explicit intent to inflict personal violence on Kevin.” This makes Kevin’s traps permissible because they were necessary to prevent death or great bodily harm to himself.

Buresh also refers to a tweet claiming Kevin is a “vigilante.” It argues Kevin could’ve just gone to the police and so he “does not have a valid self-defense claim.”

Buresh argues: “Kevin’s belief that he had caused his family to disappear and that he alone was responsible for protecting the home without police assistance should be viewed through the lens of a reasonable 8-year-old, and is therefore reasonable. Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals.”
