The big names keep coming! Rock and Shock, the kick-ass Worcester, Mass., horror/music festival, has just announced that the entire cast of FEARnet’s show “Holliston,” as well as actor Tyler Mane, have been added to the guest list for this year’s festival.

This is a very exciting announcement as the cast of “Holliston” (which includes Adam Green, Joe Lynch, Dee Snider, Dave Brockie, Laura Ortiz and Corri English) and Tyler Mane are now added to a fun group of celebs that already includes unique names like Danny Trejo, Anthony Michael Hall and Peter Criss. Also a bunch of genre favorites will be there like Bill Moseley, Sid Haig, Michael Berryman and Jack Ketchum. More names are being added all the time. And don’t forget GWAR, The Misfits, Shadows Fall, DevilDriver, Mongrel and many other bands will be playing.

From the Press Release
MassConcerts and Rock and Shock are excited to welcome the full cast of FEARnet’s original horror/comedy TV series “Holliston” to this year’s convention. This event will mark the first time ever that all six cast members will be appearing together in one place. The cast will be performing a special live script reading at their extended length panel and will be randomly picking two lucky fans from the audience to read “guest star roles” with them on stage. A formal Q&A with the audience will follow. There will also be screenings of two episodes from Season One, introduced by cast members, in addition to designated autograph signing times for the entire cast.

“Holliston,” FEARnet’s first original scripted television show, is a riotous and offbeat multi-camera comedy starring Adam Green and Joe Lynch. Set in the town of Holliston, MA, the series follows the lives of two friends chasing the dream of becoming successful horror movie filmmakers while struggling to make ends meet and dealing with the opposite sex in their post-college jobs at a Boston area cable access station where they also host a late night movie program called “The Movie Crypt.” A groundbreaking take on the traditional American sitcom, the Austin Chronicle calls “Holliston” “the show you wished “The Big Bang Theory” would be.” And Dread Central hails the series as “laugh out loud funny.”

The ensemble cast also includes Laura Ortiz, Corri English, Dee Snider of Twisted Sister and Dave Brockie of the band GWAR, all of which will be appearing at Rock and Shock with Green and Lynch this year. This appearance is extra special for Rock and Shock as in the “Holliston” season finale last year the characters attended Rock and Shock, where “Adam” and “Joe” tried to hand director John Landis a copy of the mock trailer for their slasher film Shinpads and wound up harassing scream queen Danielle Harris and being beaten up by horror icon Kane Hodder in the process.

“Holliston” is created by, written by, and directed by Adam Green, who is best known as the creator of the worldwide slasher franchise Hatchet and 2010’s Sundance darling Frozen. Green was raised in Holliston, Massachusetts, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Television and Film Production from Hofstra University in New York in 1997. While directing low budget commercials for a local cable advertising company in the Boston area after college, Green made his feature film debut with the autobiographical comedy Coffee & Donuts and founded the feature film and television production company ArieScope Pictures in 1998. In 2000 Green made the move to Los Angeles, where over the next decade he went on to write, direct, and produce the popular slasher franchise Hatchet as well as such acclaimed genre films as Spiral, Grace, Frozen, Chillerama and the internet sensation (and Boston area favorite) short film Jack Chop. Now a bona fide leader in the horror genre, Green has become a celebrated independent filmmaker and personality. Fans should also be ready because Green will be bringing along some fantastic and extremely rare posters and T-shirts from the ArieScope vault to this year’s Rock and Shock convention, including such items as the ultra gory Hatchet festival circuit poster that was banned by the MPAA (only 100 in existence and only the final five of which will be for sale) and a few select film crew T-shirts that were originally printed as wrap gifts for cast/crew only. Rock and Shock may very well be the only time these items are ever made available for sale.

“We’ve held onto these things for years just waiting for the right event,” says Green. “There is no better place than Rock and Shock to make these items available for purchase as these are my hometown fans and some of the most dedicated and passionate I’ve seen around the world. All of us involved with the films want to see these items go to diehard fans and not random collectors that want to sell them off at an even higher price on eBay.” As always, Adam Green will autograph any of his work that fans bring for him to sign for free.

“Holliston” Season 1 comes out on DVD/Blu-ray Tuesday, October 9th, through Image Entertainment. The cast will have a limited number of DVDs and Blu-ray sets available for purchase at their autograph signings, although the series can be purchased at any other major DVD retail outlet prior to the convention. Season 2 is currently in production and will begin airing on the FEARnet cable channel in 2013.

Tyler Mane
Tyler Mane has also been added to this year’s Rock and Shock 2012 convention. The Canadian actor and former professional wrestler has appeared in numerous movies, including his film debut as Sabretooth in X-Men, Ajax in The Scorpion King, Troy, Hercules as Antaeus, How To Make a Monster, Joe Dirt and also had a small role in The Devil’s Rejects. In 2007 he filmed Rob Zombie’s remake of Halloween, in which he played the iconic starring role of Michael Myers. After winning the role, he noted that he consecutively watched seven of the eight Halloween films, excluding the third because Michael Myers does not appear, to better understand his character. He is the tallest actor to ever portray the character. In 2009 he reprised the role again in Rob Zombie’s H2, becoming only the second actor to play Michael Myers more than once and the only actor to play the role in two consecutive films.

Mane also has another film currently in post-production, in which he stars in with two more iconic horror movie killers, Derek Mears and Muse Watson, coming out later this year called Compound Fracture. Don’t miss your opportunity to get to the convention and meet him!
