GHOSTBUSTERS Sports One of Spielberg’s Favorite Scares of All Time
Ivan Reitman’s Ghostbusters is a great introduction to horror. And today, director Jason Reitman (Ghostbusters: Afterlife) shares a story about how the original film contains one of Jaws director Steven Spielberg’s top ten scares of all-time.
Reitman tells Empire: “I was at a Directors Guild meeting and I happened to be sitting next to Steven Spielberg – when I told him I was working on Ghostbusters, he out of nowhere said, ‘Library Ghost – top ten scares of all time.’ And it’s true.”
Nice.

Dan Aykroyd will return as Ray in the new film along with Bill Murray as Peter, Sigourney Weaver as Dana, Ernie Hudson as Winston, and Annie Potts as Janine. Mckenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard, Carrie Coon, and Paul Rudd join them.
The new movie tells the tale of a single mother and her two children. They notice something strange in their neighborhood of Summerville, Oklahoma. So they team with a seismologist school teacher to investigate the paranormal happenings.
The last time we saw the (original) team on the big screen was in Ghostbusters II. It began after the Ghostbusters are disbanded for demolishing parts of the city during a battle. Then Peter Venkman (Bill Murray) learns that spirits have taken an interest in Dana’s son. And the men launch a rogue ghost-chasing mission.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife is now set to arrive in theaters on June 11, 2021.
