Video: Freddy Crashes Prom in Fan-Made Concept Video for a New NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET Reboot
YouTuber Tommy Ross has carved a niche creating concept videos for horror movies that don’t exist–but probably should! His latest is a “trailer” for a new reboot of A Nightmare on Elm Street, one that sees Freddy Krueger crashing some poor kids’ Prom Night!

As with most of his videos, Ross used mostly commercials and music videos to craft his vision of a Nightmare on Elm Street reboot. The video concludes with the filmmaker sharing his thoughts about a potential new Elm Street–and even supports the idea of re-casting Freddy with an actor who isn’t Robert Englund!
Director’s Statement:
The series is ripe for a contemporary installment that utilizes modern technology and sensibilities to create imaginative, cool dream sequences, and give Freddy Krueger a scary good upgrade. Also, Pennywise from the enormously successful new IT films is extremely similar to Freddy Krueger in his playful menace and their tendency to use the fears of young people to warp their reality and eventually kill them…so I feel like modern Freddy could bode well.
I would love if Robert Englund returned as Freddy Krueger one last time and passed the torch to a new dream demon that starts his/her/their own franchise, but [in my blasphemous opinion] I don’t mind if someone else brings something interesting and wicked to the character…I liked what Jackie Earle Haley was going for in the 2010 film but I don’t think the film around him fully supported him.
