Some truly shocking and sad news has come out today regarding one of Hollywood’s gentle giants… Michael Clarke Duncan has passed away at the all too early age of 54 years old due to complications related to having a heart attack this past July.
The actor, who was nominated for an Oscar for The Green Mile, appeared in dozens of movies including Sin City, Daredevil, The Scorpion King, Planet of the Apes, and Armageddon. He also was known for numerous television appearances as well as lending his truly distinctive voice to both video games and animated features.
Duncan died Monday morning, September 3rd, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, said his fiancĂ©e, Reverend Omarosa Manigault, in a statement released by publicist Joy Fehily. Duncan, a former bodyguard who turned to acting in his 30s, “suffered a myocardial infarction on July 13 and never fully recovered,” the statement said. “Manigault is grateful for all of your prayers and asks for privacy at this time. Celebrations of his life, both private and public, will be announced at a later date.”
We here at Dread Central would like to take this time to offer our sincerest of condolences to Michael’s friends, family, and constituents. Thank you for the memories, big man. Your sensitivity and smile truly were infectious. Rest easy.
