Shyamalan Defends That Bullsh*t Ending of GLASS
M. Night Shyamalan’s Glass is a movie that, I think, succeeds overall. But, oh, boy, that bullshit with Bruce Willis and that f*cking puddle. Oh, boy. But it looks like Shyamalan is still out there defending his choice to drown John McClane.
He tells Uproxx: “Well, in the end, that the simplest thing can take the strongest person down. That it’s like more of Achilles’ heel that, in the mythos of it, you don’t need an army to take down the strongest man if you know their weakness.”
But still. A puddle? Really?
Anyways … if you didn’t know, Glass centered on Willis’ vigilante from Unbreakable on a collision course with James McAvoy’s Beast from Split. Their showdown leads them to an encounter with Samuel L. Jackson’s Unbreakable villain Elijah Price, the criminal mastermind who holds critical secrets for both men.

Anya Taylor-Joy co-starred with Sarah Paulson. The film sports a 37% approval rating over on Rotten Tomatoes. The Critics Consensus reads: Glass displays a few glimmers of M. Night Shyamalan at his twisty world-building best, but ultimately disappoints as the conclusion to the writer-director’s long-gestating trilogy.
