Sarah Paulson Promies New Season of RATCHED Is Going to Happen

Sarah Paulson confirms Netflix is moving ahead on the second season of Ratched. But she doesn’t know when it will start filming, given the ongoing pandemic.

She tells EW: “But it’s going to happen.”

Evan Romansky created and Ryan Murphy developed Ratched based on the character from Ken Kesey’s 1962 novel One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.

The suspenseful drama series tells the origin story of asylum nurse Mildred Ratched. In 1947, Mildred arrives in Northern California to seek employment at a leading psychiatric hospital. There new and unsettling experiments have begun on the human mind. On a clandestine mission, Mildred presents herself as the perfect image of what a dedicated nurse should be. But the wheels are always turning and as she begins to infiltrate the mental health care system and those within it, her stylish exterior belies growing darkness that has long been smoldering within.

The show sports a 60% on Rotten Tomatoes with this Critics Consensus: Ratched is undeniably stylish, but salacious plot holes and cartoonish characterizations undermine its gorgeous production and committed performances. Author Stephen King enjoyed the series, praising the music as “positively Hitchcockian.”
