Black and Roth worked together previously on The House with a Clock in Its Walls. Deadline quotes the director enthusiastically praising the actor:
“I am so excited to reunite with Jack, this time in the recording booth. Claptrap is the funniest character in the game, and Jack is perfect to bring him to the big screen.”
Roth (Cabin Fever) will helm this adaptation of the bestselling video game from a screenplay by Emmy-winner Craig Mazin (Chernobyl). Avi Arad, Ari Arad, and Erik Feig produce. Randy Pitchford and Strauss Zelnick are executive producers.
Borderlands is a series of action role-playing first-person shooter video games in a space western science fantasy setting, created by Gearbox Software and published by 2K Games for multiple platforms.
