Having recently revisited The Faculty on Blu-ray, I was surprised to find the movie held up better than expected. We’re dealing with some of the worst CGI since Escape from L.A., but there’s a nice sense of fun to it. If you live in Los Angeles, you can see it on the big screen this weekend.

My good friend BC at Horror Movie a Day is hosting a midnight (11:59 pm) screening this Saturday, September 15th at the New Beverly theater. Which means that you’ll not only get to see the film, but you’ll be able to bask in his wry introduction as well. Play your cards right and you might even win a DVD (or an Armageddon action figure). What in the hell more could you people possibly want?

The New Beverly is located at 7165 Beverly Blvd in Los Angeles (90036), 2 blocks west of La Brea. Street parking is widely available (Formosa is your best bet), and tickets are 8 bucks CASH ONLY at the door (there’s an ATM at the Valero gas station at La Brea/Beverly).

But seriously, if all you remember about The Faculty is that it came out in the late 90s, I’d recommend giving it another look. It boasts a good cast and Rodriguez is having fun with the material, even if this remains his most obvious “director for hire” outing. Why not check it out?
